Back in time

So the time for the last blogging task has come. Therefore, I’d like to share some of my childhood memories with all of you (or with the teacher at least, if nobody else reads it ;) ).

From what I can still remember, I was a kind of energetic kid who used to spend all his time playing with friends outdoors. For this reason, my mother was having a really hard time begging me to go back home, as it usually was the last thing I wanted to do. Nowadays, looking at all those kids playing computer games instead of playing around, I am glad that I didn’t have any computer equipment at that time. That would’ve spoilt my early days for sure.

Toys? I think that I played with the same things as rest of kids at my age – cars, choo-choo, lego. However, all of these were just additional, as I was able to make a toy of literally everything. Thus a branch could be my firearm, my stick, my sword or anything that I could imagine using my young brain.

My music

So this time my task is to share my music preferences with you. However, I have to admit that I don't listen to any particular sort of music, but to everything that is catchy, but not cliche (disco polo, Polish rap music, etc.). But as I need to write about a certain band, I have decided on Happysad.

Happysad is our Polish band whose specialty is rock music. As they have been playing it since 2001, we can surely state that this makes them quite an experienced band. Moreover, their numerous music tours and concerts show that Happysad is still a very popular and well-liked band, especially among young people.

Personally, I enjoy listening to their music, as I always find it very catchy, uplifting and relaxing. It is some sort of a blessing after my hard day at school.

Good news ;)

Being grounded for a couple of days as my thermometer is still showing me 38 degrees (I hope this will not cause mistakes), I decided to cheer myself up and find some good news.

So what I came across I think will be appreciated by anyone who is interested in DIY jobs. Namely, if you want to redecorate your room, simply forget about paint, paintbrushes, wallpapers, glue, concrete or decorative stickers. What you really need is … an OHP.

Thanks to a group of Dutch artists, decorating has become a child’s play. By means of beams of light you can design your room in any way you can imagine - the sky is the limit. And although this method does not seem to be suitable for everyday use, it might be a great trick to astonish your friends. Let’s just hope their eyes will stand the intense beams at least for a while.

A hard time reading books...

Honestly, I have to admit that books did not play any crucial role in my childhood, unfortunately (or fortunately). Surely, my father would read me some short tales before I fell asleep (“Lokomotywa,” “Kopciuszek” or “Winnie the Pooh”), but I abandoned this ritual when I grew older – spending evenings in the playground seemed much more fun.

When I started Primary School I read everything that I was supposed to, even with having some fun, until Junior High School. Then, I realized how much of the books that I was forced to read were impossible to understand due to historical values or extremely difficult language (“Zemsta?”), so things which were far too mature for a kid of my age. Therefore, at this point of my life I decided to skip reading books as they were originally written, and started reading summaries that were not only less time consuming, but also easier to understand and go through.

So, one can come to a conclusion that it is not always the child who should be blamed for their reluctance to draw knowledge from books, but it is rather our educational system and its choices of required readings that can successfully discourage anybody from taking up reading. Sad, but true for me and for many other people, I suppose.

Home is the place where it feels right to walk around without shoes (or even pants sometimes ;) )

So the deadline for publishing my first real note has come, eventually. But before getting to the very point, I need to admit that personally, I have never approved the whole idea of blogs or any other sorts of “publishing” one’s inner feelings or very very personal, even intimate pieces of life. Therefore, never ever expect me to do so ;)

As far as the place I am currently living in goes, it is a block of flats situated in Wilda district. I know – Wilda. Probably now you imagine myself running dark at night only not to be beaten by some bald guys asking every single person whether he or she has a problem. But to your surprise – no – it is not that bad. It is even better than I thought, thus it is the third year I have been living here.

My flat? A regular one for students, with lots of books, notebooks and mess around. And though the place is really cozy and comfortable, I believe this year to be the very last in Poznań, with no re-sits, hopefully. My roommates, as there are three of them, are nice and not problematic guys at all.

All in all, I have gone through numerous enjoyable moments in here, and would not swap my flat for any other. The walls are full of memories :P
